WHAT IS HYPNOSIS/HYPNOTHERAPY

Clinical Hypnosis

How Hypnosis Can Help

How Hypnosis Can Help

Clinical Hypnosis (also known as Hypnotherapy)  is an altered or changed state of awareness and increased relaxation that allows for improved focus and concentration.

During Hypnosis, you will be more open to suggestion about behavior changes.

Dr. Dees, who is well trained and certified in the use of Hypnosis, uses this modality to promote change through the use of verbal repetition and mental imagery. Although you are more open to suggestion during Hypnosis, you are in complete control over your behavior - you are simply in an altered state of relation and completely aware of your surroundings.

Hypnosis can help you gain control over behaviors you'd like to change. It may help you cope better with anxiety or pain, stop smoking, lose weight, or manage stress better.

Individual Hypnotherapy sessions are designed to help clients navigate a wide range of mental health challenges, including trauma and relationship issues. Dr. Dees utilizes evidence-based treatments to help clients build resiliency, develop healthy coping skills, and achieve their goals.

  • Eliminating Doubts/Self-Sabotaging Behaviors - Hypnosis can help you ascend to your highest potential and rise above self-limiting and unhealthy belief patterns.

What to Expect During Hypnosis/Hynotherapy.

Hypnosis at the Neuropsychology Clinic

Before you begin, Dr. Dees will completely explain the process of hypnosis and review your treatment goals. He will then get you into a relaxed state and begin talking in a gentle, soothing tone, describing images that create a sense of relaxation, calmness, and well-being.

When you're relaxed and calm, Dr. Dees will suggest ways for you to achieve your goals. He will also help you visualize vivid, meaningful mental images of yourself accomplishing your goals.

When the session is over, Dr. Dees will gradually and comfortably bring you out of the hypnotic state, and gradually and comfortably increase your awareness and alertness.

Contrary to what you might see in movies or during a hypnotist stage act, people don't lose control over their behaviors during hypnosis. They usually remain aware during a session and remember what happens throughout the session

.

Over time, you may be able to practice self-hypnosis. During self-hypnosis, you reach a state of relaxation and calm on your own. This skill can be helpful in many situations, such as before surgery or other medical procedures, calming anxiety, and improving sleep hygiene.

Dr. Dees can also provide tapes/CDs to bring home to further enhance your well-being.
